Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA)
Roads Authorities and/or local councils will ask you to submit a Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) for a majority of Planning Permit applications where there is a requirement to identify and assess the impact of your development on the surrounding road network. The Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) will assess the impact and identify potential engineering solutions to overcome issues.
Key Output(s): Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) Reports, Access Designs, Car Parking Layout Designs
Car Parking Demand Assessments
Road Authorities and/or local councils will ask you to submit a Car Parking Demand Assessment for a majority of Planning Permit applications where there is a need to assess the impact of your development on the surrounding parking facilities including street parking. A Car Parking Demand Assessment will be prepared by our seasoned traffic engineers in with the requirements specified in Clause 52.06. We then develop a list of solutions to handle the additional parking needs generated as a result of your development.
Key Output(s): Car Parking Demand Assessment Reports, Parking Demand Surveys
Traffic and Parking Assessments
Councils will request you, the developer to submit a Traffic and Parking Assessment also known as a Traffic and Parking Report for most Planning Permit applications when the development is expected to create impacts to both existing parking and traffic operations of the surrounding road network. There are also other variations of these reports such as Traffic Impact Assessments or Parking Demand Assessments. The aim of a typical Traffic and Parking Assessment Report is to understand the impacts your development may create on the surrounding road network’s traffic operations, road safety and parking facilities.
Key Output(s): Traffic and Parking Assessments
Road Authorities and/or local council will ask you to submit swept path assessments with most Planning Permit applications to ensure the car parking facilities comply with Local Council Planning Schemes and Australian Standards. A swept path diagram represents the path a vehicle takes when making a turn into or within your site. Specific vehicle classes apply based on the size of your development. Swept path diagrams are prepared using software packages.
Key Output(s): Swept Path Diagrams
Local Area Traffic Management Plans (LATM)
Local area traffic management (LATM) analyses local road networks to identify existing issues. By doing so, experts at RedSquare Traffic can provide a list of engineering solutions to solve these issues as well as to identify potential improvements in operational and safety aspects. LATM takes the opinions of the local community seriously and public consultations are typically part of this process.
Key Output(s): Local Area Traffic Management Plans (LATM)
Car Park Management Plans (CPMP)
Councils will request you, the developer to submit a Car Parking Management Plan (CPMP) also known as a Parking Management Plan or a Car Park Management Plan for any Planning Permit application where the development contains a car park that needs to be managed through traffic engineering & traffic management treatments. One of the most common scenarios is when you have a basement car park providing several car parking spaces. These are also required for shopping centre car parks or any car park design that requires traffic management features to control the flow of traffic and pedestrians. Some of these traffic management treatments are signage, linemarking, lighting, parking bays etc.
Key Output(s): Car Parking Management Plans (CPMP)
Traffic engineers of RedSquare Traffic are experienced designers of car parking facilities that maximise the car parking provisions while maintaining safety, efficiency and good accessibility for users. Our unique car park designs adhere to all relevant requirements stated in Australian Standards, Traffic Engineering Manuals, Austroads Design Guidelines and Planning Scheme, and promotes innovative design ideas where possible. We take into account a range of factors including car parking space size, parking aisle widths, speed reduction treatments, lighting designs, surface treatments, pedestrian movements, swept path assessments when designing car parks.
Key Output(s): Car Park Designs, Signage & Linemarking Plans, Car Parking Management Plans
A Road Safety Audit (RSA) assesses the road safety risks of an existing project or a proposed project. Accredited Road Safety Auditors of RedSquare Traffic will visit your site, capture photos and videos and assess all safety risks as an independent party. These risks are tabulated and rated based on their likelihood and severity, and potential engineering solutions are provided to mitigate these safety risks. Road Authorities will ask you to submit Road Safety Audit at different stages of your project depending on its complexity.
Key Output(s): Road Safety Audit (RSA) Reports
Safe System Assessments (SSA)
A Safe System Assessment assesses the changes proposed by a project against its existing conditions to make a judgement on its capability of complying with the Safe System Framework. The ideology behind this philosophy is that humans make mistakes, crashes do occur, but if they do occur the road system must be forgiving enough such that crashes do not cause fatal or serious injuries.
Key Output(s): Rapid Safe System Assessments, Full Safe System Assessments
