Traffic Engineering work involves preparing traffic engineering reports, traffic impact assessments, drawings and calculations that comply with Victorian Traffic Engineering Standards and Australian Standards for various projects. When preparing traffic engineering assessments for new developments, our outputs adhere to and comply with Council Planning Schemes applicable to your local area.
Our traffic engineers get involved in the front end of new developments i.e. in the Town Planning (aka Planning Permit) stages of the project. Local councils will request traffic engineering reports or traffic impact assessments through the Request for Information (RFI) document. Our traffic engineering assessments will ensure the requests in the RFI document are addressed and your Planning Permit Application gets approved.
These traffic engineering assessments will mainly look at how a certain project may impact the surrounding road network of your development site. If there are impacts either operational or safety related, we will provide you with a list of cost effective engineering solutions to minimize impacts and to assist with obtaining council approvals.
Below is a list of traffic engineering tasks we do. Read more on our Traffic Engineering page to learn more.
Our typical projects include:
- Traffic Impact Assessments
- Car Parking Demand Assessments
- Traffic and Parking Assessments
- Swept Path Diagrams
- Car Parking Management Plans
- Local Area Traffic Management Plans
- Green Travel Plans
- Road Safety Audits
- Safe System Assessments
- Access Designs
- Intersection Designs

We are experts at producing Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs), Worksite Traffic Management Plans (WTMPs), Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs), Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) that comply with regulations and standards such as Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management, Victorian Traffic Engineering Manuals, Australian Standards and the Road Management Act. Our traffic reports and drawings will detail out how to manage your construction site or the event site in a way that minimizes the impact on the surrounding road network.
In addition to above documentation, we also get involved in community consultation, handing out stakeholder notifications through letterbox drops and preparing risk assesments or hazard assessments. Additionally, customers are able to hire traffic management equipment or request the assistance of licensed traffic controllers of RedSquare Traffic.

We are also experts at conducting traffic counts, traffic surveys, turning movement counts or any kinds of surveys. Designers often require before and after assessments to compare the impacts of a certain change on the road network. It is also important to assess what the existing conditions are like by doing a survey in the area which will feed directly into your design. RedSquare Traffic will conduct comprehensive traffic surveys all across Victoria at competitive rates.
